Coming from Milford Mill Academy, I was extremely pleased with the level at which this school is achieving. The principals and teachers encouraged and helped me adjust into this school. The school has a lot of bright students with numerous AP classes in which students excel at high levels on the AP exams. Teachers, especially AP teachers, make sure students don't just get the grade, but also understand concepts. Hats off to New Town's large, successful AVID program. Their Program successfully achieves its goal every year: to send all of their seniors to 4 year colleges and universities and to assure that its students are achieving at a minimum of a 2.5 GPA and higher. The AVID teachers are SOME of the most dedicated in the building (there are some dedicated teachers who are not a part of the AVID program). The school incorporates the use of technology into its curriculum (my AP class purchased Nook Colors for every student for educational purposes and the plan was successful). The school is fairly new and very, very clean (the bathroom toilets flush automatically!). It is still high school, so there are students who bring their issues to school to make it feel like high school, but I don't think it drastically takes the focus away from learning. The athletics are also pretty decent. Football team was near state champions; wrestlers placed at state championships; Track team placed at State Championships in their relay; Soccer team made it to regionals this year; Basketball team is pretty decent. Overall, I am very impressed with this school and I do recommend it to any student willing to strive for the best.
I love this school, and therefore, I will be graduating at 21 years old, from high school in 2017.
