Great trail for the whole family. I can't believe I've lived here for over 20 years and never heard about it
So peaceful, and the perfect length for a good midday walk on your lunch break. Excellent vantage for bird watching and benches for resting as well.
The trail as a whole is very pleasant, a few miles long in the various branching directions. There's a good mix of dirt and paved. At one point - strangely enough past a barrier and an "end of trail" sign - there are a series of bird feeders/nesting boxes, but at the times we visited they were generally not occupied.
For when you just want to get out there and take a walk. This trail head offers convenient access to several small walks and hikes. Some are paved, some have boardwalks, and some are dirt paths. If you follow the paved path down long enough you will eventually hook up with the Soldier's Delight trail system.
